What is a Public Cloud?

Public Cloud computing is delivered over the internet in the software as a service model and resources such as storage are delivered in the infrastructure as a service model.

A public cloud boosts your capacity or supports new systems quickly and flexibly while also offering the resilience and control of redundant dedicated server environments.

The ability to scale up quickly, but at an affordable cost, is the key to the popularity of hosting on a public cloud environment.

However, due to the sharing of processing power and security infrastructure such as switches and firewalling, Public Clouds are unsuitable for high traffic websites or business critical application hosting
